The Making of a Stem Cell Super-Ecosystem with Bernard Siegel

January 17, 2018 By Cade Hildreth (CEO) Leave a Comment

Bernard Siegal, World Stem Cell Summit WSCS

I am honored to share this interview with Bernard Siegel, Executive Director of the Regenerative Medicine Foundation (RMF), a global network of stakeholders that fosters collaboration across the industry. Bernard is also the Founder and Chair of the World Stem Cell Summit (WSCS), my favorite stem cell industry event of the year, because it attracts a global super-ecosystem of stem cell industry stakeholders.

In this interview, we explore his background, changes within the regenerative medicine sector, the importance of industry collaboration, and future directions for stem cell medicine. [Read more…]

Quite a Year! Boston Biolife Hosts 8 Courses Serving 600+ Physicians

January 1, 2017 By Cade Hildreth (CEO) 1 Comment

Boston Biolife

Boston Biolife2016 was quite a year for Boston BioLife (BBL), hosting 8 new courses, serving 600 physicians, launching a Translational Medicine show on “I Heart Radio”, partnering with the World Stem Cell Summit to incorporate panel discussions and a live TV station, establishing new relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and introducing new faculty that include clinicians from Harvard and Stanford, the President of the Regenerative Medicine (RM) Society, and head of the Wound Care Society.

It is hard to believe that all of that could happen in only 12 months. [Read more…]

World Stem Cell Summit 2016

BioInformant is honored to sponsor and attend the 12th annual World Stem Cell Summit 2016 being held in West Palm Beach, Florida on December 6-9, 2016, by the Regenerative Medicine Foundation.

The World Stem Cell Summit brings together more than 1,200 intelligent minds, putting brilliant speakers on stage and packing rooms with curious and eager listeners.

In my opinion, the World Stem Cell Summit is the ultimate gathering for the stem cell community.

What is the World Stem Cell Summit?

The World Stem Cell Summit is the world’s largest interdisciplinary meeting to bring together stakeholders from across the stem cell and regenerative medicine spectrum.

The key aspect that makes the World Stem Cell Summit  a must-attend event is that it brings together stem cell executives, investors, researchers, clinicians, doctors, advocates, patients, and more. I can report from experience that it is extremely rare for a stem cell event to attract stakeholders from across the stem cell spectrum.

The event also features over 200 renowned speakers, which means that for the past month, I’ve been reviewing the speaker list and planning out my “must see” talks.

Last year, the 2015 event held in Atlanta, GA, attracted more than 1,200 attendees from 40+ countries. Impressively, there were up to seven different speakers presenting at any given moment, meaning the the shear volume of content being shared is incredible.

In addition to the concurrent speaker tracks, there were also Expert Luncheon Roundtables, Investor Presentations, and a “Stem Cell Actions Award Dinner.” [Read more…]

“Speed Dating” for Investors, De-extinction, and New Business Initiatives

Today was another incredible day a the World Stem Cell Summit (#WSCS15). Because of the jam-packed scheduled that runs from 7:15am breakfast networking through to an evening social, it is affectionately called “Fantastic Friday.” The day launched with speakers such as Dr. Joshua Hare and Dr. Tatsuya Shimizu discussing how mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can be used to repair and regenerate the human heart, either by directly stimulating the micro-environment or by stimulating the activity of muscle stem cells. Shortly thereafter, talks expanded to focus on other stem cell types, including induced pluripotent stem cells (iPCSs), which were explored in greater detail during a lunch-time “Japan Symposium” that featured presenters from FUJIFILM Corporation, Ajinomoto Co., Inc., Cyfuse Biomedical, and Kyoto University.
