Cord Blood Registry (CBR), a California Cryobank Life Sciences company, has announced it will acquire Natera’s Evercord™ cord blood business for an undisclosed sum. CBR is the largest newborn stem cell collection and storage company within the United States with more than 875,000 stem cell samples in storage. Magenta Therapeutics Awarded an FDA RMAT for MGTA-456

On September 4, 2019, Magenta Therapeutics announced it had received an FDA Regenerative Medicine Advance Therapy (RMAT) designation for MGTA-456, an expanded CD34+ cell therapy treatment used in place of single umbilical cord blood (UCB) transplantation. This one-time stem cell treatment is being investigated for the treatment of multiple inherited metabolic disorders.
