Scientists increasingly agree that the convergence of advanced longevity technologies and regenerative medicines offers great promise for chronic disease prevention and optimal health throughout the individual’s lifespan. Thought leaders in these fields lament that in the rapidly evolving medical landscape, the journey from groundbreaking research to practical application is often fraught with challenges. HEALinc, a future health research and development (R&D) organization founded by Dr. Desirée Cox, is dedicated to overcoming the “Valley of Death” hurdle and ensuring that life-changing, longevity-enhancing therapies reach those who need them most.
The Vision Behind HEALinc
HEALinc was born out of Dr. Cox’s bold vision for the restoration of whole-person health for everyone, everywhere, fueled by her passion for innovation and her frustration with the barriers that often prevent promising innovative treatments that are safe from being accessible to patients. With a background that spans clinical medicine, history and philosophy of the sciences, regenerative medicine and the creative arts, Dr. Cox recognized the need for a platform that could bridge the gap between scientific discovery and practical, real-world application.
Since 2018, the HEALinc Future Health Summit, now the HEALinc Global Summit, connects the dots between translational medicine and accelerating global access to cutting-edge advanced longevity and regenerative therapies by bringing together experts, patient advocates and biohackers to share insights and best practices. The cross-disciplinary cadre of 2025 HEALinc Summit presenters and panelists will include top-tier scientists, healthcare providers and entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and delegates from the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, India, Panama, Mexico, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Singapore and more.
The 2025 HEALinc Global Summit will be held April 27th-29th, 2025 at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, The Bahamas. To learn more, please visit our website at: https://www.healincsummit.com.
The Valley of Death: A Critical Challenge
The “Valley of Death”, a well-known term in the world of healthcare innovation, refers to the stage where many promising medical breakthroughs fail to progress due to a lack of funding, regulatory hurdles, or insufficient infrastructure. This gap can delay or even prevent the development of therapies that could potentially save lives. Through strategic partnerships, advocacy, and funding initiatives, HEALinc helps advance therapies through the rigorous stages of development and approval. Tackling the barriers of the Valley of Death helps improve the chances of groundbreaking treatments making a meaningful impact on healthcare and patient outcomes. By advocating for policies that support the development and implementation of regenerative treatments, Dr. Cox has positioned HEALinc as a driving force behind the integration of cutting-edge science into everyday healthcare.
Spearheading the 2024 Longevity and Regenerative Therapies Bill
Dr. Cox’s significant contributions to the field of healthcare includes her leadership in spearheading the 2024 Longevity and Regenerative Therapies Bill in The Bahamas. This landmark legislation – passed by the Parliament of The Bahamas on July 27th, 2024 and enacted on September 1st, 2024 – represents a monumental step forward in the quest to make advanced therapies more accessible to patients globally.
“Re-envisioning accelerated access to advanced longevity and regenerative therapies to include a global network or nexus of safe spaces is critical,” said Dr. Cox. “At HEALinc, we want to inspire and support thought leaders in spearheading and curating properly regulated ecosystems in different parts of the world, where properly consented patients can receive advanced longevity and regenerative therapies, and where sponsors are strongly encouraged to publish that real-world evidence in peer-reviewed journals.”
The 2024 Longevity and Regenerative Therapies Bill in The Bahamas builds on the strengths of the 2013 Stem Cell Act, which established an ethical model for global access to stem cell therapies, making it possible for hundreds of patients from all over the world to receive stem cell and regenerative therapies that were developed mainly in the US and Europe in approved medical facilities in The Bahamas.
Transforming Health Outcomes Through Precision and Collaboration
At the core of HEALinc’s mission is the belief that healthcare should be as unique as the individuals it serves. Precision medicine, which tailors treatment to the specific genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors of each patient, is a key focus area for HEALinc.
Transforming healthcare requires more than just innovation – it requires collaboration. Dr. Cox actively partners with a wide range of stakeholders, including academic institutions, healthcare providers, and industry leaders, to create a network of support for the advancement of medical science. By fostering collaboration with government bodies, innovators, scientists and policymakers all over the world, HEALinc leverages the collective expertise of its partners to drive progress and achieve the bold vision of the restoration of whole-person health for everyone, everywhere.
The work of HEALinc is rooted in the belief that the future of healthcare is one of hope, innovation, and possibility. By focusing on the intersection of science and compassion, HEALinc is dedicated to creating a world where every patient has access to the best possible care. Whether through supporting the development of regenerative therapies, advocating for precision medicine, or fostering collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem, HEALinc is committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities around the world.
The HEALinc Global Summit serves as a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing knowledge, and exploring new opportunities for innovation. Registration for the 2025 HEALinc Global Summit, which will be held April 27th – 29th, 2025 at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, The Bahamas, is now open. This year’s Summit will be attended by 350+ in-person attendees, with an anticipated 1,000+ virtual attendees to join via livestream. Healthcare innovators, entrepreneurs, scientists and investors will learn how to obtain approvals to set up regenerative research programs and obtain licenses to establish longevity and regenerative health facilities in the Bahamas that help bridge the gap between research and real-world application for patients all over the world. Biohackers and regenerative health enthusiasts will learn about proactive pathways to regenerative health range from precision medicine, gene therapy, the science of healthy longevity, mitigating psychological trauma and stress.
