It is hard to believe that all of that could happen in only 12 months.
Boston BioLife first came across my radar screen in late 2015, when I was involved with one of their regenerative medicine events featuring stem cell applications. Subsequently, 2016 saw phenomenal growth and expansion for the company, as its Founder/President, Joseph Krieger expanded his vision for what the company could become.
Over the past year, I watched Boston BioLife grow from a little-know company into a world renowned organizer for regenerative medicine (RM) education and training opportunities.
Creating Community through New Vendor and World-Class Faculty Relationships
In addition to building a vast training network, Boston BioLife has created a close-knit community of clinicians, surgeons, and researchers who are committed to growing the practice of regenerative medicine across a wide range of applications. I am honored to be a part of this community.

Boston BioLife has also grown its base of vendor relationships, providing a synergistic, sustainable network of like-minded organizations and companies who can support each other’s growth and integration of new regenerative medicine therapies.
Boston BioLife participated in multiple capacities at the World Stem Cell Summit in West Palm Beach, held on December 6-9th, 2016.
Aside from providing 28 CME credits for the clinical tracks of the program, several Boston BioLife faculty members participated in presenting diverse topics, including the biology of adipose tissues for regenerative medicine by Randy Miller, MD, orthopedics and regenerative medicine by Diego Correa MD, PhD, and the biochemistry of alpha 2 macroglobulin (A2M) by Gaetano Scuderi, MD.
Regulatory and clinical guidelines from a laboratory perspective were also presented by David Harrell, PhD, and Dimitri Schvartzman, PhD. Joseph Krieger, MA, gave a presentation on translational medicine. Solomon Kamson, MD, PhD, discussed the role of a surgical interventions in combination with biologics in minimally invasive spine surgery.
In addition to widespread faculty participation, Boston BioLife broadcast live television radio from the World Stem Cell Summit, in conjunction with their media partner amp2TV. Approximately 70 individuals told stories of their involvement stem cell science, including patients, parents of lost loved ones, scientific innovators, government policy makers, investment business strategists, and many others.
Over four days, 16 hours of broadcasting were released by Boston BioLife, resulting in nearly 500,000 impressions and approximately 10,000 Twitter interactions. These can be seen at @BostonBioLife or via the hashtag #WSCS16 on Twitter.
“I Heart Radio” Show
As an enthusiast in emerging regenerative therapies, Krieger can also be heard every Friday on “I Heart Radio” discussing translational medicine topics.
You can listen here as he hits the airwaves each week at 12:30pm on Fridays.
Previous topics that Krieger has covered include rejuvenation therapy, chiropractic and primary care as a referral source for regenerative medicine in musculoskeletal, patient advocacy and education in regenerative medicine.
Upcoming topics that Krieger will be addressing over the airwaves include other life science technologies from translational medicine into the clinic.
Wound Care Training in Washington, DC, on March 11-12, 2017
On the educational front, Boston BioLife is hosting an exciting new training event this March in Washington, DC, titled “Advanced Wound Care in Regenerative Medicine Using Stem Cells & Biologics.”
Scheduled for March 11-12, 2017, at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center, the two-day course will allow participants to experience a comprehensive and intensive learning opportunity focusing on regenerative medicine techniques and their clinical applications in wound care.
Importantly, the event will address integration of regenerative medicine approaches to existing therapies and techniques, with emphasis on applying these approaches to maxo-facial applications, trauma and burns victims, non-healing surgical wounds, ulcers, and more.
Due to the conference focus involving the use of stem cells and biologics within wound care applications, I look forward to attending the event and providing coverage of it to our audience of stem cell enthusiasts.

Other Upcoming Events, Including a “Design Your Own Course” in San Diego
Other upcoming events by Boston BioLife include a “Hands–On Stem Cell Therapies and Biologics for the Clinical Application of Pain Management” event in San Diego on January 21-22, 2017, that will include a “Design Your Own Course” component.
Under this format, attendees will attend two half-day general sessions, and then will have the opportunity to select from the hands-on workstations that he or she would like to attend.
Specifically, there will be the opportunity to choose two hands-on sessions for Saturday (5 options available) and two hands-on sessions for Sunday (5 options available). Under this format, up to 18 CME credits are available to attendees.

The Future of Boston BioLife in 2017,Training Physicians in Regenerative Medicine
As mentioned, Boston BioLife is a cutting-edge organization that provides workshops for physicians interested in integrating regenerative medicine (RM) into their clinical practice. Its mission is to facilitate the introduction of emerging regenerative medicine technologies to scientists and healthcare providers.
It was founded by Joseph Krieger, who I recently had the honor of interviewing.
Importantly, Boston BioLife leverages its network and a commitment to emerging technologies to introduce workshop attendees to new technologies of which they would otherwise be unaware. Its training programs are characterized by using both didactic and interactive, “hands-on” approaches, which physicians can get ACCME accreditation for attending.
Therefore, the fundamental premise of Boston BioLife is to provide a bridge between emerging technologies in a laboratory setting and the physicians and clinics who ultimately provide access to the patients most in need.
With the massive growth and expansion that Boston BioLife experiencedduring 2016, it will be my privilege to watch the progress of company and its impact on the future of regenerative medicine throughout 2017.
In my estimation, next year is likely to include new course launches across a growing network of cities worldwide, new faculty additions from world-class organizations, new vendor relationships, new broadcasting opportunities across radio and TV networks, new conference, and more.
