Miller Sponsors Inaugural Meeting of Cord Blood Association (CBA) Europe

Miller Insurance Services LLP was pleased to support and attend the recent meeting of the Cord Blood Association and representatives of European cord blood banks during the 3rd annual Cord Blood World Europe event hosted at the International Design Centre Islington.

The meeting was chaired by CBA President Dr Joanne Kurtzberg, MD and Alan Leahigh and included representatives of many key stakeholders from the cord blood banking industry outside of the US. Cord Blood Association objectives are to expand demand for cord blood products and services, develop industry standards and best practice, educate health professionals and consumers about cord blood banking options, raise awareness of the benefits and future of cord blood and provide an effective voice for the cord blood industry on a wide range of issues (while fostering collaboration between public and family banks). The event provided an ideal opportunity for the association to take soundings from representatives of a wide range of cord blood banks on the issues being faced and how the CBA could assist.

Dr. Kurtzberg and the bank representatives discussed a number of the issues and Alan Leahigh commented, “A unanimous consensus was reached on how this initiative could move forward together – a decision that promises to have far-reaching benefits for both CBA, the European banks and cord blood banking generally”.
